God created man in His own image. To create is: to cause to come into being, as something unique that would not naturally evolve, to develop from one’s own thought or imagination, as a work of art or invention.
God created man out of His own mind, out of His imagination and thought in His likeness and image. God formed man. The Hebrew word for formed is “yatsar,” it means, through the squeezing into shape, to mold into a form, fashion, frame, purpose, to determine. The meaning of form is “external appearances and shape of a thing, to mold, a particular condition, or the mode of character.”
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and of the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over everything that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over all the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. KJV
God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the Breath of life, and man became a living soul. What God took man out of He gave him dominion over. God made man out of the dust of the earth and God gave man dominion over the earth.
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell there in.
God made man in three phases or three parts. He made man a spirit like Himself. God fashioned and shaped man a body from the earth and put this spirit man into the earthly body. Then God gave man a will, a soul to rule and reign over the physical earth. Man was given purpose to reestablish the earth in the likeness of God to reflect His glory.
God is an everlasting God and His Spirit will live forever. God breathed His eternal life into man’s spirit and now man has an eternal spirit with living soul. The soul is defined as the principle of life, feeling, thought and actions in humans which is distinct from the physical body. It is in the soul, where our feelings, thoughts and actions are established.
We were given the ability of free will so we may choose our actions, choose our thoughts, and choose our feelings. God told mankind “to be” fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, to subdue it, and to have dominion over the things in the earth. To be, is; to take a place, to occupy, to make happen, to make occur, to attend, to take care of, or to devote one’s service to something.
The spirit of man came from God, out of His Spirit. He gave His life giving spirit and placed it in man but it will return to God and the body will return to the ground and return to the dust. God will judge everyone according to their purpose and calling.
The earth, this planet, this globe and it belongs to the Lord. God gave mankind the authority to rule, and to reign over the world’s inhabitants, its interests, its affairs, its pursuits, its systems, its societies and culture. The world wants to blame God and say He is unkind, unloving to the people on earth or He is powerless to keep bad things from happening. Another lie from Satan is to blame God for the things that man has the authority to correct and rule.
The time between birth and death is called life. What we do with this life and how we live it is what will be judged. Mankind still has the same choices Adam and Eve had, to choose God and His word or listen to enemy’s lie and be trapped by this world system.
Man was created to live for eternity but because mankind disobeyed God the creator and obeyed Satan sin came into the world and the man’s God -like soul died. Mankind is no longer the creature God created him to be and man’s dominion was given over to Satan and he became master over this fallen world. Jesus came and He defeated Satan and brought God’s kingdom system back to the earth so that whosoever believed in Him can have this new and eternal life.
The Bible says whomever you obey they are your masters. Life has set before us blessing and cursing, life and death. God tells us to choose life, but it is the choice of our will that will decide. The enemy has become the master of those who are dead spiritually, those who refuse God’s provision. To those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior they are made a new creation, the children of God and have authority over the enemy.
